Both candidates are female, one lives in Cardiff and the other locally. It would be improper to publicly reveal identities even though names are circulating amongst Conservatives who received the Returning Officer's communication to Ceidwadwyr Cymreig Welsh Conservatives on 16th November 2020 together with the confidential "bio" of both.
Ballots for candidate selection closed at the first post on Monday 30th November 2020.
Cadno Môn can now reveal that after both candidates were put forward to the local party for members for consideration, the process seems to have just stopped. It appears as if the selection process has just not taken place.
It is understood the candidates' suitability may be in question.
